Caffeinated Fiction is moving to Hawaii!
Yep, you read that right! At the end of the year, my family will be pulling up roots and heading to the islands off the west coast of the U.S. of A.! Woo hoo! (No worries. The actual Caffeinated Fiction website will still be found in the same place, albeit with a few extra coconuts.) 😉
Why, you ask? Ummm… quite a few reasons, actually. Most that have to do with the fact that we feel like God has been leading us to a big transition, for many years. There has been a leading of our hearts to do something big for a while and through much prayer and consideration, we know the time is now. We are going into this as a permanent transition, but are open to wherever God would lead in the future.
What does this mean for my writing? Good things, I hope!
Currently, I’m a stay-at-home mom of 3 girls, ranging in age from 4-13 years. I homeschool the two oldest (complete with responsibilities of Homeschool Coop), while trying to stay active at our local gym and in our church, singing and working with the youth. Needless to say, life is busy! I maybe have 90 minutes in the morning to write, and another 60-90 minutes in the evening. On a good day. And if I’ve hit both of those writing goals, I may have given up one of many other important things, that day. The life of the northeast is about being busy and never slowing down. And needless to say, we’re growing weary of this.
Also, I’ve noticed that weather seems to play a large role in the quality and quantity of my writing. I am absolutely prone to seasonal depression, which makes for a very rollercoaster style commitment to my writing. My hope is, that by transitioning so drastically, the temperate climate will aid in my ability to focus in and stay consistent with my writing. I need some Aloha in my life to help me slow down and enjoy life before it’s gone.
Do I think that moving to Hawaii is a cure all for everything in our lives? Of course not! But we do feel that the Lord is leading us in this direction and I hope this move will only make my writing better and bolder!
As always, feel free to comment below! I’d love to hear what you think of this major transition!
Happy reading, friends!
