4 Decades of AWESOME!

Yes, that’s right people! This girl is 40 today…. AND loving it! If you would like to join in the celebration, feel free to read the rest of this post. If not, just know that it simply says, “I’m 40!” 🙂

40

It’s funny because turning 39 was way harder than this! I was seriously dreading today, for like, over a year! But now that it’s here, it’s almost… liberating! I’ve arrived, I’m not dead, I feel great, I’m in better shape than I was 20 years ago, and I’m a whole lot smarter! (Or less dumb, however you’d like to view it.)

Check the map. Have we hit 40 yet? Why, yes. Yes, we have!

I’d like to say I have a whole bucket list of things to do, now that I’ve reached the big 4-0. But the weird thing is, I sort of don’t. Why, you ask? Thank you for asking 😉 It’s because I’ve always sort of just done what I wanted. ‘What’s that? You want to learn ballroom dancing? OK, let’s learn! Done!’ ‘Wait, you want to try childbirth, naturally? Oh, go for it! Done!’ ‘Huh? You’re crazy enough to want to publish a book? Oh, well, go ahead, then. Done!’

If you were born after 1974 you might wanna go to the store and buy some AWESOME! So you can party with the rest of us!

I’m not saying I’ve done everything there is to do in life, but I’ve just never been one to sit around and wait for things to happen. ‘Want to start a business with a friend? Sure! Let’s do it! Done!’ And I’m not saying any of these things have been amazingly successful, but at least I did them! Have I been sky diving yet? No, but I’ve still got a few years 😉 But overall, I can honestly say, I have no regrets about things I ‘wish’ I had done, so far in this life.

If you’re not here yet, just remember, turning 40 is just another day. You wake up, eat breakfast, and do whatever it is you do every other day of your life. (Unless you’re lucky and someone bought you a cruise. Then it is not like every other day. But after the cruise, it will be. Trust me.) It’s no big deal, and certainly not something to fear. If you’re already part of the club, then you know what I’m talking about.

So, all this to say, I’m 40, I’m happy, no sympathy cards, please. You can save that for someone who can’t out do you in push ups 😉

Happy reading, friends!  And Happy 40th Birthday, to me! Cause I’m not ashamed to say it!
