Another year, another challenge! *throws confetti* For the past two years, I’ve given you all a challenge: In honor of my birthday, write a flash fiction story in as many words as I am years old! Which, of course, means I need to tell you how old I am. *shifts gaze side-to-side*

Kidding! *tosses more confetti*
No, I’m not turning twenty. But I certainly feel like it! *wink* Today marks my 44th birthday! Which gives you 44 wonderful words in which to create something magical. So, have at it! Sparkly unicorns? Check. Irresistible mermaids? Go for it! The sky’s the limit! So get writing and leave your story in the comments below.

Another Birthday
“Birthday time!” Charles said. “Turn the clock.”
Eloise twisted the dial on the ancient magical relic. The air around her shivered and her skin tightened. “Twenty again.”
“How many does this make?”
“Twenty-four times.” She smiled.
“Twenty-years-old for the twenty-fourth time. Happy Birthday, Eloise.”
