New ideas and why they cause so much frustration

I’ve got an idea! Another idea for a story.

Yes this, in addition to the Christian Pararomance novel I’m attempting to bring to the final stages of editing, as we speak. And in addition to the spin off idea I had for that same novel. And in addition to the 3 book dystopian series that has been halfway written for four years and I continue to work toward completion. And did I mention how I want to go back and combine my 6 part novella series into one work? Yeah.

Another idea. Argh.

I love stories. I love writing. I love being able to share my stories with others.

I just hate the time it takes between the first draft and the final draft. I know I’m not alone when I say I wish I could wave a magic wand and have my manuscripts corrected and ready for publication instantly. It’s always while in the midst of the most difficult revision that new ideas come to me and I suddenly get ants in my pants to get. this. thing. done!

But there is beauty in the journey, my friends. There is beauty in the perseverance to see it through to the end, and there is beauty in the struggle it takes to get there.

We learn. We grow. We become better at what we do. And for that, I’m thankful.

What about you? Do you have stories tugging at your brain to be told? I’d love to hear what you’re working on right now, or what you hope to be working on soon! 😉

Happy reading, friends!
