It may have happened that my dearly beloved husband threw me a surprise party for my 30th birthday (a mere ten years ago) whilst I was still pregnant with my middle daughter. It was a hit, my friends and family had fun, he embarrassed me with baby pictures, I think there may have been a Spa theme in there somewhere (?). All was well and I knew he’d most likely bake something up for my 40th.
I was right.
I wasn’t shocked when I figured out that he’d decided to (*try to*) surprise me on Saturday with a little something special for my 40th! Along with (a lot of) help from a few dear friends, he led me to a celebration that reflected ‘me’ in every direction. Here are some pix from my special day. Notice it had multiple themes – the writing that I love, as well as a certain show AND character I might be obsessed with! 😉

The tables were decorated with all things writing – loved it! There was a display with pix of my writing and childhood photos. And of course the amazing cakes my good friend baked for the occasion! (If you look closely, you can see the ‘Hot Girls Read’ sign. Yes, ladies, it’s true! Get reading! 😉 )
Of course the occasion wouldn’t have been complete without my favorite ‘Walking Dead’ guy, Daryl Dixon! So glad he could make an appearance 😉
Other festivities may have included zombie hunting, zombie bowling and photobooth fun! (That’s me being a dork) 😉 So there you have it – 40 years celebrated through all things writing and all things Daryl. What will my 50th bring??
