April showers bring… lots of words…

Things have been pretty busy lately, and I’m sorry to say, they will only get busier! The month of April I worked hard to achieve my goal for Camp NaNoWriMo (more on that later…) and for the month of May, we will be preparing for our move across the country! We shall see how much I get blogged this month, but don’t be surprised if it’s not as often as I did in March.

Having said that, I figured I’d give a brief update on where things are in my writing world! As mentioned above (and in this blog post) for the month of April I joined in Camp NaNoWriMo with a goal of 20,000 words. The good news: I surpassed my goal with almost 30,000 words! The not-bad-but-not-as-good news: My plan had been to finish my book, but I missed it by five chapters.

Which leads me to my next point: I’m almost done writing book two in my YA Fantasy series that I began in 2016! Woo hoo! And further news, I actually came up with a name for the series and each book. (A much bigger feat than one might imagine!) The series will be called The Prophecy Tails, with book 1 titled Arise and book 2 titled Ascend. Like it? I’ve already got the main idea for book 3 (and a name, but I won’t unveil that yet!) which I hope to get started writing by the second week in May.

And the final bit of news…. drum roll, please!….

One of my devotionals has been published in the May 2016 issue of Ruby for Women online magazine! Check it out by clicking on the magazine on the right sidebar of my site. *cartwheel and backflip* Yay! So excited to be part of this publication! Be sure to check it out and let me know your thoughts.

That’s it for now… I’ve got to get back to editing my other book so I don’t get behind. But I’m hoping to get a few more blog posts in this week. (And maybe – just maybe? – I won’t miss Flash Fiction Friday this week! Eep!)

Happy reading, friends!
