    Coming to the End

So, here I am. At the end of a journey that has taken the better part of a year. I still remember the convo I had with a fellow writer about the idea of releasing one of my works in novella form. I had been encouraging her to step out and just publish what she had written, and not to fear what others thought. Then I realized I needed to take my own advice. The “Now I Sleep” novella series was first released in April 2014. The last one will be available this month. And I’m a l

Book Review: “Drowned” by Nichola Reilly

This book was recommended by a friend of mine who I pretty much consider a guru when it comes to anything YA fiction. As soon as she gave me the title, I knew it was going to be next in line on my ‘To Read’ list. I’m so glad it was! “Drowned” by Nichola Reilly is the first in a new series of YA books. (Stop that eye roll right now – once you read this, you will be so happy it’s going to be a series!) Synopsis: Coe is one of the few remaining teenagers on the island of Tides.

Why I am going to miss my deadline; and this is a good thing.

Dear friends, The next and final installment of my novella series, “Now I Sleep” is slated to be published by the end of this month. I’m sorry to say, that’s just not going to happen. Phew! There! I said it! Honestly? I’ve been dreading telling those that have faithfully been following the series, that they were going to have to wait a little longer to find out the fate of Sadie, Gabe, Levi and company. I didn’t want to have to come out and admit defeat – I just haven’t had t

Book Review: ‘Of River and Raynn: The Catalyst’ by Rebecca Ethington

Very excited to be leaving this review right now! Rebecca Ethington is one of my favorite authors and has been inspirational to me to publish my own work just this year! 🙂 ‘Of River and Raynn’ is a brand new series she’s created and I was fortunate enough to get my hands on an advanced copy of the first installment: ‘The Catalyst’! Woot! Synopsis (as taken from Amazon): They found me when I was five; a little girl sitting on a bench in Grand Central Station, soaking wet, ask

“Now I Sleep: Book Five” published!

It is finally here! The next book in the ‘Now I Sleep’ series has been released on Amazon and through Smashwords! This means it will be available to download from Smashwords and Amazon now, and will be on other retailer websites – like iBooks, Barnes and Noble and Kobo – within the week! Yippee!! I know I’m technically a day late getting this out – it had been promised in August and we’re now 7 hours into Sept 😉 – but editing took a little more time while on vacation, than I

Book Review: ‘Into the Still Blue’ by Veronica Rossi

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be writing this review! I began this series a couple years ago, soon after I picked up the first novel, ‘Under the Never Sky’. I was immediately hooked, in awe of the fantastical world Veronica Rossi had created. The story of Aria – a young girl from the ‘pods’, who lived most of her life in a virtual world – crossing paths with the ‘outsider’, Perry, who’s clan had lived their entire lives in the harsh conditions of a world ripped apart b

    Are you a reader?

I recently ran across this post about those that regularly read and why they make the best people to fall in love with. http://elitedaily.com/life/culture/date-reader-readers-best-people-fall-love-scientifically-proven/662017/ Although I’ve been married fourteen years, it made me think back to my dating years – to the guys I’d most connected with, verses those that only lasted a few dates. I’ve always been a reader, so it makes sense that looking back, an obvious pattern did

    ‘Kiss of Fire’ for free…

One of my favorite Indie authors is Rebecca Ethington, her first novel – “Kiss of Fire (Imdalind #1)” – effectively hooking me into a Fantasy universe that I love! If you enjoy reading about magic and romance, you will surely enjoy this series of books. Ms. Ethington creates characters that you will fall in love with, route for and worry over, as she weaves her tale of adventure. The story follows Joclyn, an ordinary teenager until her 16th birthday, when she receives a surpr

    Book Review coming soon…

Soooo, I do realize that it’s been a solid week since I’ve posted anything. I was really looking forward to today because I’ve been reading an awesome book that I can’t wait to review! Aaaannnddd, I haven’t finished yet 😉 But once I do, you will hear all about it and can ‘ooo’ and ‘ahhh’ at my findings. Until then, I will give you a hint – it has an old fashioned picture of a young girl levitating on the cover. (Which is why I never picked it up earlier – I thought it might
